JOAN E. MOORE TO PRESENT AT

THE NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT LAW INSTITUTE (NELI)

AFFIRMATIVE ACTION WORKSHOP

IN CHICAGO ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2017

National experts in Affirmative Action will team together to present the 2017 NELI Affirmative Action Workshop. Joan E. Moore and John C. Fox will present a dynamic program addressing the fundamentals of the federal contractor/subcontractor affirmative action requirements, including the internet applicant. These presenters have defended AAPs across every OFCCP district in the country and personally will speak to why the construct and content of the AAP is so important that it can literally make or break an OFCCP audit.

For her part of the program, Joan will be discuss the practical side of how to build an AAP from a legally defense point of view. She will delve into the construction of both the narrative and data sides of the plan and include seasoned perspective on:

  • Why the content of your AAP matters, especially when you receive an audit notice;
  • What makes for good faith efforts and outreach that are audit-worthy;
  • How to document problem areas without creating admissions against interest;
  • How to work with basic and specialized census data to refine availability analyses;
  • Why it is important to manage applicant flow to reduce potential liability;
  • What are the required components of Protected Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities AAP;
  • Examples of how to respond to the OFCCP Audit Scheduling Letter.

Joan will help those who need exposure to the fundamentals of building an AAP, or simply a refresher course, and her "tales from the front" will breathe life into the basics of AAP compliance and construction.
